Ana Sofia Simões

Born in Oporto in 1980. 

Her career has been exclusively at SLCM where she started to work in 2003. Professional activity is primarily focused on commercial and corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, civil law, law of contracts, corporate counselling and intellectual property law – trademark rights, advertising law and image rights.

Has particular expertise in commercial agreements, in domestic and cross-border transactions, and corporate governance, advising on the corporate life of several companies and developing activities related with counselling and assistance in projects for the acquisition and restructuring of enterprise groups from its beginning (due diligence). Also provides legal advisory services to national and foreign clients in matters related to intellectual property, advertising, image rights, trademarks and content licensing.

Has been advising important corporate clients, both national and multinational companies. Has a relevant track-record in sectors such as telecoms, media, information technologies, fast moving consumer goods, healthcare, tourism and infrastructure.

Graduated in Law, Oporto Catholic University (2003). Master’s in Private Law from Lisbon Catholic University (2009). Post Graduated in Intellectual Property Law (2014) and in Corporate Finance (2017), University of Lisbon.

Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2005.
