Created in 1961 by the partners António and Maria de Jesus Serra Lopes, the Firm was formally incorporated in 1989.

Its conduct has always been guided by an unremitting loyalty to the essential values of law practice: independence, observance of ethical and deontological duties, skill and full availability and service to its clients. SLCM is committed to providing services in a context of mutual trust and loyalty.

"The first edition of one of the greatest literary works of mankind was published more than 400 years ago: "Don Quijote de La Mancha". It is not one of the least reasons for pride among peninsular people. If SLCM has modestly inherited something from D Quijote it has been to always consider that we exercise the profession of Knight Errant:

"- Es una ciencia - replicó D. Quijote - que encierra en sí todas las demás ciencias del mundo, a causa que el que la profesa, ha que ser jusperito y saber las leyes de justicia distributiva y conmutativa, para dar a cada uno lo que es suyo e lo que le conviene." (II, 18)"

(António Serra Lopes)

"Accompanying the developments in the profession, SLCM has modernised itself, grown, provides more services, is present in new law practices, encompasses several jurisdictions and has important links to universities. Always observing the values that presided over its creation and that have shaped it over time.

Sir Winston Churchill said: "All great things are simple, and many can be expressed in single words: freedom, justice, honour, duty, mercy."

We always endeavour to remain simple.
