SLCM has a multidisciplinary team of lawyers with extensive experience in the energy sector, in particular asset acquisition (asset or share deal) and / or direct development of projects for energy production, particularly in the field of renewable energy (wind, solar, water and biomass).

In this context, SLCM provides legal advice to its national and international clients in different stages of project development, namely verifying the viability of the project, obtaining the necessary administrative permits and licenses. SLCM has extensive experience in preparing and reviewing legal instruments appropriate to the financing, construction and development of infrastructures, operation and maintenance and the production and sale of energy.

In view of the recent changes in European and national policies that have as a common objective the reduction of the carbon footprint, SLCM has also been focused on energy sustainability and electric mobility, seeking to find legal solutions to enable its clients to develop technologically innovative projects that impose new approaches to legal relationships between individuals and between them and the administrative authorities.

With a specialized knowledge of the energy sector and its growing challenges, SLCM team provides specialized advice to its clients, focusing on the following aspects: 

  • Analysis and assembly of contractual structures appropriate to each transaction
  • Checking the feasibility of a project (Due Diligence legal), with special focus on administrative and regulatory aspects
  • Negotiation of the necessary contractual instruments (eg, EPC, O & M, PPP, Financing Contracts)
  • Support in the scope of environmental impact assessment procedures or analysis of environmental impacts
  • Follow-up of the administrative procedures necessary for the construction and implementation of power generation plants, as well as obtaining the production and operating licenses
