Miguel Machete and Marlene Sennewald Sippel wrote about the controversial ruling of the German Constitutional Court of 5 May 2020, in which this Court assessed the legality of the decisions of the European Central Bank concerning the program for the purchase of public sector assets in secondary markets (the so-called Public Sector Asset Purchase Program - PSPP), rekindling, in an unprecedented way, the discussion about the principle of primacy of European Union law.
